Kumano Sanzan

Three shrines and two temples make up the sacred region in the southern area of the Kii mountain range known as the Kumano Sanzan. The grand shrines ate Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, and Nachi Taisha. The two temples are Seiganto-ji Temple and Fudarakusan-ji Temple. These shrines and temples are all part of the Nakahechi route of the Kumano Kodo. The beliefs and practices of Shinto and Buddhism came to be blended from of faith unique in Japan.
