Sumiyoshi Shrine

Tsurugi Shrine and Sumiyoshi Shrine are both housed in the main shrine building. Sumiyoshi Shrine is on the left and Tsurugi Shrine is on the right. There are several giant old growth trees in the forest behind and surrounding the shrine which are characteristic of laurel evergreen temperate forests. There are Elaeocarpus (horuto no ki), Quercus gilva oaks (inchiigashi), and camphors (kusunoki) that are designated as living prefectural treasures.
